The company announced this week that production of its 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel engine for the Ranger pickup will cease by early 2026. According to Ford, the PHEV variant will deliver an electric-only driving range of up to 43 kilometers while slashing CO₂ emissions to an estimated 68–72 grams per kilometer drastically lower than the 230 grams per kilometer previously seen in the EcoBlue diesel version. The shift underscores Ford’s ambition to offer cleaner. More sustainable mobility solutions without sacrificing the rugged utility that made the Ranger popular among European consumers.
