97 PSD fires, dies
« on: January 30, 2008, 05:44:48 AM »
 >:(Hi, having just finished swapping a 97 F250 entire drivetrain, incl. wiring computers into a 94[orig 7.3 TD} After getting the oil and fuel system bled[hopefully] the engine glow plug lite comes on for 1-2 seconds[in a warm shop, plugged in] spins, fires for 1- 5 seconds then dies and will not fire again for 20-30 min. There is no smoke during this time. There seems to be plenty of fuel  available when you crack the bleeder valve while cranking. This engine sat for about a year, but only has 170K or so and ran good and was serviced regularily. Tried swapping a CMP, but no avail. I will have to hire any diagnostic  services. Thanks for any help.
